GROUP CLASSES

KRAV MAGA

Developed in the 1940's by Imi Lichtenfeld, Krav Maga is a self defense system based on real life scenarios and confrontations. It is not a martial art, it is a combative system. It is designed to be learned quickly by ANYONE, regardless of age, size or experience. It’s effectiveness comes from its simple, adaptable techniques and principles. Elements of training in these classes include

Organic Learning
At On Point Krav Maga, we emphasize organic learning through skill-based games and drills that develop both grappling and striking techniques. These activities are designed to challenge students while promoting natural skill growth in a competitive and engaging environment. Our mission is to provide a structured, seminar-based approach to our Krav Maga and self-defense training, where key concepts such as awareness, defensive techniques, and physical responses are taught in a logical, step-by-step progression. Each class focuses and develops a specific skill set, allowing students to explore the material with different themes and variables

Skill-Based Games

We use competitive grappling and striking games to refine techniques while keeping the learning process engaging. These games promote quick thinking, adaptability, and practical application under varying levels of resistance. By adjusting the intensity and competitiveness, students are challenged to apply their skills effectively in both controlled and dynamic scenarios.

Grappling and Striking Drills
Our non-competitive drills, including padwork, partner drills, and solo exercises, are designed to build fundamental skills in a controlled, supportive environment. These drills focus on technique, timing, strength, and precision to help students improve their overall abilities.

Freework
Freework, such as sparring and grappling, allows students to apply their skills in realistic scenarios. The intensity builds as skills develop, with a focus on safety, continuous learning, and adapting to varying parameters and rules. In this environment, it’s not about winning—it’s about improving skills competitively without a script

Force Multipliers

Tools and weapons can shift the balance in a fight, but they should enhance, not replace, a solid foundation of self-defense skills. Proper training and responsible use are also crucial. We also teach how to handle improvised tools and defend against common objects. Focusing on lawful, moral use of force, we ensure students understand when and how to protect themselves. A complete self-defense strategy blends combat skills, verbal de-escalation, and the right mindset to effectively respond to any threat.

Sparring

While freework is part of all our Krav classes, these classes focus exclusively on (supervised) grappling, striking, and weapons-based sparring. Our sparring classes are designed to steadily build your skills in a safe, structured environment. Sparring isn't about hurting people, egos, or meant as a stand-in for real fighting. Sparring is about developing your skills in an unscripted setting, and getting good work in with a trusted partner.
